Our Story
Bonfire Capital Advisors is a leading M&A Advisory firm based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Founded in 2020, Bonfire was created as an alternative to larger-scale professional services firms and focuses on servicing the needs of business owners, executive management teams, Boards of Directors and private equity clients.
Our team has a depth of “Big 4” M&A and turnaround experience, which we are able to bring to client situations in an approachable, nimble and more thoughtful way than incumbents. Together, we have extensive advisory experience paired with a track record of operational, financial, and executive management of local private companies – bringing a relatable perspective to client objectives and aspirations.
As business owners ourselves, we bring a multi-faceted perspective to complexity and uncertainty by considering the range of stakeholder objectives into account during planning, facilitating, and concluding transaction solutions for our clients. We bring a flexible approach to fee structures and can accommodate individual client circumstances.

Brennan Stewart, CPA, CA, CBV
Principal
Brennan established Bonfire Capital in 2020 as an alternative to larger-scale professional service providers. He previously was a Vice President in EY's Strategy & Transactions practice with 16+ years of experience in M&A and corporate finance in Canada and internationally.
Colin Prentice
Principal
Colin is a seasoned executive with 18+ years of experience, recognized for his dynamic leadership, financial expertise, and entrepreneurial vision. Previous Senior Vice President at EY with a track record in private company leadership, international business, M&A and major restructuring projects.

Tory was previously the CFO of New Health Investment Group and a Manager in PwC's Assurance in the Calgary office with 9+ years of client service experience.
Kyra Stevenson, CPA, CBV
Manager, Transaction Advisory Services
Kyra was a Senior Manager of Corporate Development and Financial Planning & Analysis at a PE-backed consolidator of veterinary clinics across Canada. She earned her CPA and CBV at KPMG and also gained experience in the private investment industry with an Alberta-based firm.
Emily Ogston
Associate
Emily is a results-driven associate with strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills. Prior to joining Bonfire, Emily was the President of the Dalhousie Commerce Society and sat on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Business Students.
